  1. You don’t have to say something new. Just say something true.
  2. Take the time to listen to your audience. Their feedback is more important than all the critics out there.
  3. You don’t need to know how to get there. You just need to know the next step.
  4. When someone doubts you, don’t let it take you down. Use it as your insurance policy for success. Prove them wrong.
  5. Put something in your calendar that’s scary, difficult, or hard.
  6. Witness your thought. Forgive yourself for having the thought. And then choose again.
  7. Keep showing up. You have to make the thousand versions that get set on fire before you get to the Marilyns and the soup cans.
  8. Create a rhythm in your routine where you reach out to one person at a time.
  9. Success is just constant iterating on our failures. Look for the clues in the messy first draft.
